Committee Descriptions

Annual Conference

Purpose: With the assistance of committee members, plan and prepare for the NHIMA Annual Educational Conference.

Information Governance & Advocacy Committee

Purpose: The purpose of the Information Governance & Advocacy Committee is:

  1. Keep membership informed of current federal and state legislation in the healthcare field, particularly in the legislative process as it affects health records/health information management.
  2. Assist the Board of Directors in developing and presenting NHIMA’s position on legislative issues in the state that affect the health information management profession.

Medical Record, Revenue Cycle, and Coding Committee

Purpose: The purpose of the Revenue Cycle & Coding Roundtable is to provide a liaison between members of the Nebraska Health Information Management Association and third-party payers, assist facilities with coding questions, promote coding uniformity and generate interest in improving data quality.

Nominating Committee:

Purpose:

  1. To provide a ballot to each eligible voting member which includes nominees for each office to be filled by the association.
  2. To oversee the electronic election process.
  3. Identify registered attendees at the NHIMA Annual Business Meeting that are qualified to vote on matters that are brought to the members at the meeting.

Social Media and Member Engagement Committee

Purpose: The purpose of the Social Media and Member Engagement Committee is to engage with HOSA/high school counselor, meetings/ Kearny County Career Fair, send letters to high school counselors (Board members schools), Coffee Chats, Networking events/mentorship, AHIMA Professional Enhancement Campaign, Facebook, Access, Newsletter.
